I just bought an Akai S2000 and I want to use the MESA software to edit samples. I saw some screen shots on a website and it looks incredible, much better than using the tiny LCD display on the S2000. I have a Mac Blue and White G3 running OS9.2.2. Does anyone have experience with this software on a similar setup? I want to get a SCSI card in order to use it, but I want to be sure this setup will work. Also, I read that you could use MIDI instead of SCSI, but I want to know which is faster. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Mesa is cool. I used it for a while a few months ago. I use a G4/400 w/ OSX and OS9.22. It should work fine. But check the system requirements too. I may still have my copy around here....yeah. I got it. Mesa 11 v.1.2. It has just enough features to do almost everything you need to just tighten up a sample before sending it to a sampler.

If you wanna save time, a SCSI connection is best. The SCSI cards are cheap now too. I may even have an extra one that I don't use anymore around here. MIDI is fine, but SCSI is comfortably fast.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info, man. I'm going to try it out, I just found a copy online. Since you can use MIDI, I'm going to try that first.
