ANYBODY...EVERYBODY...
I always have trouble with the bass lines and need some aid and assist..
1. I've got limited bass - where can i get more?
got a couple samples that i'm tired of using and the infamous elec bass

2. how do i match it with the sample?

3. what's the best way to play without a keyboard?

I use the chromatic assigning of the pads.

It gives you 64 levels instead of 16 levels.

How do you match WHAT with a sample?

Are you talking about the bass, just listen to it and try it out..

THX FOR THE INFO. i try to match the BASS w the sample. I know to listen, but the bass in one key sounds almost as good as another. i thought there was a formula or something....

There are different samples of basses, you can make your own bass from a sinewave with the help of a computer or a good synth. There are many options yes, but there is definitely a difference in basses. Try listening closely to bass samples with good headphones or monitors with no added effects and set your eq to flat, either works for me. You might hear the difference..

Alright...how do you use the chromatic assignment? Do u create a prgram and place the sound on each pad with a higher tune than the last one? I think i know what u are refering to u could you clarify it for me?

You can choose a sound/sample and choose what pad will be the normal tune. all others get tuned around that and spread out to make 1 full progam. You don't have to place each pad.. It's an automatic 64 scaling.

I think you mean fine tuning it to a sample, try shift+program, drum1, then parameters, go to tune then fine tune the bass note by ear. If I remember correctly a half-step equals 10.

thx 4 the advice, but this much i know. i'm alright with using the fuctions of the MP. Maybe i don't have the ear for bass because when i do the auto chrom, everything sounds way off key or it sounds wack...i think i need a keyboard and some different basses. feel free to add-on...
