sampling with click track

Is it possible to sample with the click on. If so, how do I do it? I apologize if this has already; been covered I searched and didn't find anything.

Nope. I gather your're trying to set up a means of counting the beats in a sample to avoid over and/or oversampling. If so just remember the universal count method. 1-2-3-4-,(1 bar),1-2-3-4-,(2 bars) etc, or when laying your drums you can set the note value to 1/8 . Regardless of what tempo yopur at use the note repeat and hold down a closed hi hat pad and when it loops you have your timing track. This track can be used as part of the track or out right erased after you get into your groove. If I just told you something you already knew, my bad.

What I'm trying to figure out is if it is possible to sample guitars licks into the MPC2000XL with the click on. Don't worry about telling me something I already know; reinforcement is good. I appreciate you taking out the time to respond.

You could record your sequence to an outside source, like 4 track or computer, then listen to it in the headphones, while recording into the MPC. I've done this using a bass guitar.

There's no samplng with the click on, what Dcypher just stated should work well though.
