does anyone know anything about the Akai MFC42 Filter Module

This seems like a pretty usefull piece of gear. Does anybody have this piece and if they do could you say exactly how usefull it is and what it is best for.

Also could anyone give examples of projects this has been used on or better yet specific songs..

It's funny you should ask. I'm planning on getting one myself nextweek. I haven't heard it but a couple of guys that I work with said it's pretty hot. I was told that you can get a real gritty sound with it. Also, I hear that Dr. Dre has several, not that necessarily matters, but then again, it's good to know that a top producers uses them if that is true.

Because I've been thinking about getting one of these myself. I've tried filtering using Soundforge but it never sounds right to me. Also, there's nothing better than tweaking some knobs.
