what program ? should i use to mess with drum sounds

what is a good program to mess around and fatten up sound s? shoul di use sound forge? before i load samples into mpc1000 i want to get them wher i want them ? i have sound forge what else do i wnat to get >??

I'm a Mac user, but can you also use VST fx with Sound Forge? If so, you wanna get some crazy fx and try everything. I like the fishfilet fx. H20 is good too. Visit www.kvr-vst.com. Everything you would need is there.
