before i ask my question, ill explain my set up.
mpc 2000xl to samson compressor to soundblaster extigy soundcard to cool edit pro.

i was wondering if a mixer would benefit my set up before i recorded into cool edit pro.
if so, what would be the benefits of the sounds going through the mixer before they were recorded into cool edit pro.
and also, if i were to get one, should it go, mpc to mixer to compressor to soundcard or, should it go mpc to compressor to mixer to soundcard.
im guessing mixer to compressor right?
im just trying to save myself some cash here, your help is appreciated if its not worth it.
thanks

well, if you have the 8outs option, a mixer is a great tool to give your sounds some room, with EQing and Fx...If not, then you dont need a mixer at all for only your stereosum. you can just hook up the mpc to the compressor, and the compressor to your soundcard input.
