i got the 8outs..NOW WHAT??????

ya wassup doggies. i got the 8outs for my mpc.now what?everyone in here keeps sayin it is eesential to track ur beats and eq them out..but i dont how i should go about doin this. i got two mixers ...1 beringer 4 ins.its the small cheap beringer mixer.my 2ND mixer is a alesis 6 in mixer with multi fx mixer, now im only usein my small beringer mixer for my mic, which is in the line in, and my mpc ....and the tape outs in to my soundcard..so how would i go about hookin everything up together?can i combine both mixer in to one is this possible?what im trin to accomplish is do sub mixixing wiht the 8outs so i can eq them ..holla back mpc experts!!

I use my 8 outs just for recording...Set which sounds you want to come out of which out, put "like" sounds together...For me, I run my bass hits out seperate and snare out seperate, hi-hats and other hi end freq. sounds together ect...

hi im intrested in beaing able to do this if any one can go in depth about the whole process it would be much appreciated and what do u need, to beable to do this without the 8outs, ive got a behringer mx802a mixer and a recording soundcard ive read that you can track them but two at a time what does this mean? and what program do you record the beats to i have got cubase and would like to get them in that so i can compress add effects to certain parts etc. and how do you just record your drums for example to a separte track from a sample hi hat etc.

Id say to just get the 8 outs instead of tryin to make it work with the stereo outs...I'm sure if you sync up the timing on your recording program and if you had say 9 tracks in your beat you could record your 9 tracks by recording your beat 9 times with each track individually...would be a long azz process though...

yea i dont mind doing it the long way cos ive only got the 2out2ins on my soundcard i dont have one of them deltas with all dem extra ins and outs but im wondering what the 8 outs do. does it just record all the parts of the beat and put dem in different tracks if it does it sounds easier anyway but is there any differance in the quality of the beat if u do it by stereo. and the sync bit is that because im recording all the tracks seperate i gotta get them all to fit in?

Dood youd be surprised how different it sounds running out those 8 outs...Takes a little getting used to but for me I dont record into a computer Ive got a 1680 so I gotta route my shit around the room into compressors and fx pedels ect...Heres a couple reasons why I love my 8 outs...1.) I like outboard fx and compressors and shiz, you cant put that to a track straight stereo for obvious reasons...2.) The 8 outs let your track breath a lot better. My main problem before I got my 8's is that my bass and snare's got muddied and muffled by everything going on in the song, once you seperate those two alone(bass & snare)onto seperate tracks you'll see that those 8 outs is worth its weight in gold not to mention you can mix your song much more in depth after you've finished recording...hope this helps, lot of info...pz

buy a mixer

yeah you need a mixer for the 8 outs...

i have bd out of out 1,- eq- compressor

snare out of out 2- eq-compressor (if needed)

3+4 for stereo hats and perc- goes to ch's 3 & 4 on the mixer- panned and usually with the bottom cut

bass out of out 5....ch 5 of mixer with eq and compression...

melodic element (mono) out of 6 and into 6 of the mixer

melodic element (stereo) into 7 and 8 of my mixer....

the advantages are you have instant access to volume and pan of these channels meaning you can tweak in realtime....plus i can use the eq and lexi verb built in to my mixer....

seperating the elements not only means more control but also means you can route, layer and use stuff like compressor key imputs etc...

for example having my bd separted from everything else means that i can add extra bump with my sonic maximiser and not effect the rest of the track.....

to me the 8 outs and a mixer are absolutly essential....loads more possibilties as you get the options to use your outboard gear on a selected track/instrument or even sample...plus it teachs you how to mix...

D I been told you to cop a mixer.....cintiolis and 8th street......remember???? as far as a compressor you can but if you are recording into the computer you can use the computer to compress if you have that option
