precussion swing settings

okay fellow user., i need your help! Listen to the dub track of "so gone" by monica(produced by missy elliot)..How in the hell can i get my hats and shakers to swing that hard like that song? The beat alone is sweet!

I aint herd it but... Play it by hand is the easiest way to get good swing...then ITERATIVE quantise it to tighten it up just a little...!!!

Or use TRIPLETS or a wierd ass time sig like 14/16

by the way kanye west did that beat

dub styles usually utilise triplets or something in between heavily swung sixteenths and triplets....i haven't heard the tune but if its slow and dubby i imagine its the use of 16th note triplets on some of the 'in between' bits....

id have to hear to confirm this....why not recycle the beat?

i've sliced it up in my motif.. the drum and snares are dead on! its just the hi hats and shakers that are giving me the problem.. i feel if i can lick this last challenge, my drum technique will on point!!

But some other chitown producers named Spike and Jamal did. Kanye did produce Knock, Knock though.
