odd time signature limits in the MPC?

I am presently doing research on buying my first MPC, most likely a MPC2500. I will be using it primarily as a MIDI sequencer and as a secondary drum sampler.

I have read through the manual and searched through the forum and can't seem to answer one very large concern for me.

Is there a limit to what time signatures I can use in a sequence? A lot of the music I work with in is in 7/8 or 15/16 or 17/16 or 31/32 etc. Are these time signatures possible? are any signatures possible? does each sequence have its own time signature? is it possible to mix time signatures within a sequence?

Yes, all the signatures named are possible, you can set up each individual bar in a sequence to every sig from 1/4 to 32/32

(at least on a 1000)

Edit: just checked: you cant do 17/16 for some reason. You can do 1-16 4ths, 1-16 8ths and 1-16 16ths + 1-32 32th. So 9/8 is possible, 17/16 not. But you can surely work around that by using 2 17/32 bars after another.

that really helps with my decision. Now to sell some gear so I can afford a MPC2500...

my expirence with this ...is that when i used this it would only change sig's if you were to make another sequnce with another sig, the machnice will ask you if you want to make that change .

I have a 2kxl and what the 2kxl has is a feature that will let you play two seq over each other at the same time so maybe that will help .
