when makin a beat, what i the most difficult part of it?

for me it sure is the bassline, its difficult find them nice bass samples, + it sure aint easy finding the right "tones", keys...
but ill get better though, but bass is allways the hardest part for me...

the hardest part for me is coming up with a melody

No hard parts for me.

keeping my 2 year old away from the pads or the keyboard or the mixer.........he's a natural

not feeling like a fraud by calling myself a musician after looping up some ojays is the hard part for me....
so then i try to fit other instrumentation over my loop so that it isn't straight up jacked

here lies the hard part....

convincing others that i wrote it and wasn't merely matching the bpms of already existing loops....

The hardest part is to stop! Seriously, I'm hooked... No, even worse,I'm addicted!!
I might go for hours and hours without eating when making a beat, and that's some scary shit. Those that know me know that I'm ALWAYS hungry and never go for more than an hour between snacks! This one little box has got me wrapped around it's finger...
I ain't complaining tho... Just have to keep a post-it next to the screen to remind me to eat every once in a while!

lol cheech, when beat-smithing i often forget i smoke and am hopelessly addicted to cigarettes...i can go for hours and not have one and not even realise...other times i look down at the ashtray to see half my fag burnt away....

my friend gets this- he says to him self 10 mins and then ill have a break, sparks up a fag and then just goes to quickly tweak something...before he knows it the fag has burnt away and half an hour has gone past....

my first reply was a bit of a joke but i guess the hardest part is knowing when to stop....or even harder knowing when to carry on...

For me, finding the BPm of the beat I'm banging before I record. I'm no good with clicks, I'm getting better tho.

Getting some slamming drum patterns

I can do the basic shit, but then when I listen to some of the drum loops my shit sounds like shit compared to it

I need help with my ghost notes as I really have no idea what to do with them, plus some cat was telling me he does 2 seperate drum tracks layered that aint work for me either

Any suggestions on improving the drums
