PT Bouncing

Yo, for you Pro Tools users.... I got 5.3.1, and when Bouncing the track to disk, ma manz told me u should use AIFF so that u can Bounce to disk, then burn that straight from Nero onto a CD, then u can just play the CD straight...... I tried it, and it just played Static.... I did it on Stereo Interlayed or somethin like that...... should i use a different format or whatsup?

Let your manz demonstrate to you what he's taking about and show you exactly. He might have done it different than you or maybe he left out a step.

aight, after i recorded tha track, i went to Bounce to Disk, changed the format to AIFF...... put it on Stereo Interlayed, saved it as MIKE and bounced it...... then after it bounced. i went to Nero, went to Audio CD.... brought the MIKE.aif file up, and burned it to a CD

Make sure it is 16 bit 44.1 khz if not it will give you static. Not sure if this is your problem but check to make sure.

.Aiff is a MAC format if you are using a PC you probably want to use a .wav file. Before you do these steps it is best to have a Dither Plug on the absolute LAST slot on your master chanel. The effect order goes from top to bottom on your chanel strip.

1) bounce to disk
2) stereo interleaved, 16 bit res., 44.1
3) convert after bounce
4) save to desktop
5) drag it into your player
6) Make sure it is set up for burning an audio CD not a data CD or MP3, and burn baby burn.

Well I tried it.... 16 bit, 44.1, stereo interleaved for AIFF and WAV. But none of them worked..... in fact, like if i went to "My Computer", went to the file and tried to play them through Media Player, the bar moves for the amount of minutes and seconds the song is supposed 2 be, but no sound is released

What are you trying to open the file in?

First, try opening the file in antoher program like Cool Edit or Sound Forge or import the file into a new PT session and make sure you are getting everything out of the original PT bounce. If all you see is a couple of straight lines all the way acroos the file then it's a problem with the PT bounce, if the file looks good(the way all other song wav files look) then the problem is something else.

Try this, in the original PT session, before you select bounce to disk, highlight everything you want bounced. To do this just click in the Rulers area at the top of the Edit window where it says Bars:Beats/Tempo/Meter/Markers and drag the mouse across until all the tracks are highlighted. Also make sure you don't have something muted that shouldn't be or some kind of volume automation that's bringing the volume down. Now do everything as TheMPCRipper suggested and see if it works.(I remember having to do this with an earlier version of PT) Hopefuly this will work but I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't, I'll do some checkin' up on the issue and see what else it could be. Well whether Lamp is a Comedy Central All-Star or not , my PT still isn't bouncing right..... how come I always end up having the problems that no one else has ever seen?

Ha, true dat, but I ain't trippin though, cuz ma last 2 MAJOR problems had simple answers and i'm sure this does too...
