URGENT and NECESSARY feature request: Add Probability

Hi All!

I am new to forum! After purchasing an Akai MPC Sample.

But I found one major feature lacking! This would be a Probability feature.

All rythms sound the same when the unit is running, I know you can change the sequence or mute pads, record automation etc. But one thing I find lacking the most is a Probability feature.

This should be easy to implement. And i think this would only require a few lines of code?

It would be very easy to add, just add an option for it on the B-1, B-2 or B-3 buttons, where you can control the probability from 0% to 100% with either K-1, K-2 or K-3 Enoder per pad.

Liike this is a basic functionality in all samplers like Elektron Digitakt II, Roland SP-404MKII, Akai MPC, Novation Circuit Rythm, ETC.

I just own the product since Friday 01-05-2026, after waiting around for ever to get the unit for sale, I wanted it so bad because of it's portability. After a long time googling I found one store that still had it though. and it's been only 2/3 days and I find this feature lacking, to the point where I am considering selling the unit, because of this.

I think that incorporating this feature to the Akai MPC Sample will add like 150% of value to this sampler, and it's a standard feature found in the most basic samplers.

I think it would not be hard to add, and would love to see/get a new firmware update with this feature included!

Would love to hear your thoughts on this. If this is not the right place to submit a feature request, please tell me where I can do so?

Probability is a feature available on the 'full' standalone MPC sequencer, it's there in the underlying firmware but removed for the MPC Sample, as are many MPC3 features.

Send a request direct to Akai via their web site, but if its urgent then consider upgrading to something like the MPC One. It's highly unlikely that the MPC Sample is going to get all the missing features found on its bigger siblings, Akai are looking to offer a more simple budget offering, but no doubt if enough people request a feature it's possible they might enable it.

I get that, that not all features are included in the MPC Sample compared to it's bigger brothers.

But this is a really minimal feature and basically a requirement for all basic samplers, even at this price point. Like the Roland TR-6S and the Roland 404 MKII or the Novation Circuit Track.

I am not going to go bigger or considering a new purchase. I just got this unit, and I got it mainly for it's portability and that was the main selling point for me. If I wanted to stay studio bound I will be using my Elektron Digitakt II instead as it has many more features compared to the MPC Sample. Like custom routing of 3 LFO's per track etc. But then again it also costs 2.5 times more, I get that, but is it portable? Only with a powerbank, and still having to log unit, cables, powerbank, headphones/speaker around, it highly decreases it's portability.

Anyway I think it's a must have feature even at this price point, it's really simple to incorporate and it would not get in the way of bigger units and their features I think. It's just a really basic feature for samplers I think and an absolute must have.

Do you have any tips for getting this to developer's? Like a website or contact info?
