Anyone managed to play a Pad using the 16 Levels from an external Sequencer or Keyboard? As it does not seems to work no matter were the PAD is set to receive MIDI, the only way to record melodic notes is to use the Onboard Pads?

16 levels has always been an internal thing.

possible sure...

but 16 levels isn't likely working the way you think...

effectively what is happening is you are playing the same not over and over again, and the 16 levels is sent to a mod channel (filter/velocity/tune) which is then modifying the note. Unfortunately there's no direct way for an external device to send information to this mod channel, without Akai changing how the MPC Sample works.

Well you can bypass using 16 levels by copying sample across pads, changing its pitch but it will take up pad slot per note you wanna use

I smell this behave is not gonna change soon and personally do not feel comfortable to play melodic tapping on the pads, but I don't recall this happening on my ONE +. Thanks anyway.. on my return List

Just copy that sample to a new sample program. Do what you like with it then.

There’s no “new program” on MPC Sample, 1 “program”, 1 track is what it offers.
