- Put a sample on a pad - a sustained note of something, closer to sin wav, so it's more prominient
- Lock Reverb on FX pad
- Set the sample to loop, play it
- Set a lowpass filter with high resonance, frequency where you can still hear the sample, but quite low (it's more prominent then)
- With the sequencer stopped, it plays through the reverb, no plops
- Now select an empty sequence (so that there are no other sounds), play the sequence. When it loops, there are plops. You can hear them better by repeatedly pressing play, so it restarts the sequence. Each time you press play, a plop occurs.
This may seem not much, but trying to do some ambient, subtle stuff, proves difficult! I hope Akai is monitoring this forum, and can do something about it.
