No but its an Reggae element. Name another music genre that uses the air horn constantly like Reggae or Dnace Hall?

I don't know what this comment means but Reggae and dance hall are different. Just like Reggaeton is different than both.

Cockdiesel wrote:danoc.... your track was dope but there was nothing mo-town about it... look what the peanut gallery said, even charles who had a less developed track, because he followed the rules, had more votes than you. Not trying to hate but look at the spectrum from you to eyalc. spin all you want but you aint changing minds. Don't get me wrong, your track should be on Kiss FM, while the others tried for something on the oldies station or your uncles record collection.

My track was not less developed, all it needed was vocals and structure. One thing about 1960 and 70 Motown, is that there wasn't tons of instrumentation. Guitar, Drums, Tambourine, Horn Sections, Bass. Strings. Also I went for a more modern mix, if I pan those instruments hard right and left and place the vocals center, it's on the money.

I don't know man, I look at them all in the same vien. I have both a dub and dancehall complimation from trojan records as well as some old marley... perhaps im in the wrong, maybe others can chime in to define the rules better. I want to be inclusive not restrict with this one. although I didn't participate, and really have no bearing. SO its up to yall....

But what is Dub music? From my understanding it is no where near Reggae.

Dub music is characterized by a "version" or "double" of an existing song, often instrumental, initially almost always pressed on the B-sides of 45 RPM records and typically emphasizing the drums and bass for a sound popular in local sound systems.

_____

Dub is genre of music which grew out of reggae music in the 1960s, and is commonly considered a sub genre ... The verb dub is defined as making a copy of one recording to another.

No I did not say that. But it's it's POP song structure, lyrics are typical modern POP lyrics. Singers Key, vocal tones and inflections are very POP. The way the vocal are stacked, the outro with filter vocals, the instrument panning. If you have Brittney, Ciara, Demi Lovato, P!nk, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, you could any of them on this. So yes, it's a POP song.

I didn't take it as a hate. I was explaining my thought process behind the track. That kind of track needs Vocal, 3 part harmonies, and a song structure.

Yes, that was POP! I'm just saying if we're going to do this. Stick to the format or Get called out.

Cockdiesel wrote:dub is literally the instrumental version of the "true" reggae song...... just usually extended and showed off more of the production aspects of the song...

So its a sample of the Original Reggae song Dubbed?

"Dub is genre of music which grew out of reggae music in the 1960s, and is commonly considered a sub genre ... The verb dub is defined as making a copy of one recording to another."

Sobits not actually Reggae Music,
