i installed reason on my uncles computer and made a quick beat with a laptop mousepad and preset sounds... just cause i said i would.

dude won by default, and yes - his beat IS better than mine.. as far as mixing, sounds, arrangement.. all that shiz..

but see.. some people do like a little bit of groove.. a little more funk to it.. and little more emotion in it.

his beat is good! but it sounds like every other beat in that genre of music.

i'm not saying i'm better than this dude.. i'm not sayin your whack

basement is just plain simple and the style is played out... no heart or swing on it... just finger on the "Note Repeat" button and keeping up with the metronome.

im not feeling es-Ks beat either... but it had some groove in it and originality... but i guess hes better at sampling.

BTW i rather sample and be labeled as "Garbage" in UR book then play the keys like 6 year old at a piano lesson and MAKE GARBAGE.

i can actually play keys.. and i could make a much better beat than this if i had the means to do so..

but load up reason and make a beat with the laptop mouse pad.

you cant audition sounds before choosing them.. you cant edit a sound as you play the keys.. and hell, you cant even PLAY a melody or bass or drums or chord changes or nothin..

i just had to click notes in on a grid.

I just could not sit still anymore. Man is it really that hard to make music that you can feel? I would not even waste my time with a battle with neither one of those beats. The problem is you guys are looking at this thing as a beat.Not as a producer. A beat to what? What is your shit saying before one lyric is on the track. If you want to make original tracks what kind of chord progression do you have. Check out Scarfaces (Sex Faces )and( I never seen a man die)Check out Kurupts ( We can Freak it) produced by BattleCat. Check out some old Spice 1,Paris,Conscoius Daughters,Digital Undergroud,Too Short or anything in during the ninties from the Bay.What about some old 2 Pac( Brendas got a baby,Dear Mama, Crazy ).Now thats the kind of original music that I thought you was coming with. When I heard that shit, I thought to myself I will get my 12 year old to teach him some chord progression.Man I am thirty four years old so I know what the hell I am talking about. I was bouncing my head to Easy E and NWA when these little n-ggas was suckin on titties. Like I said before Sampling is the foundation for this hiphop shit. This hiphop and this music is not a game to me. So do not dis respect hiphop with some bullshit beats and some bullshit rhymes. It is amazing to see people with 50 thousand dollars worth of equipment but when you hear their shit it sounds like some pots and pans. Dead lifeless,music.
