Jac - Like the melody when it kicked in but the drums were boring in my opinion, could have done with some extra hits here and there. i agree that it sounds like on big intro

Nym - annoying intro! Like the drums, like the range off sounds. The mix seems a little off somehow, i think the snares a bit high. Gets a little repetitive towards the end.

Tic - Nice and grimy, drums seem a bit hollow though. Nice cuts and i like the flute sample near the end

I'm going with Tic

tictoc - the beat was cool man the drums were ok but i think they were too low or something. i like the feel of it and the vox you had up in there...cool man

jacpot - first of all man im diggin the name of the track! lol  the sample is friggin crazy man foreal. i really like it. the vibe is just what i like man. yea it did sound like a long intro but whatever. dont like the drums in the beginning but i can really see scarface talking over this joint like he does sometimes. like on da good bad and ugly over the acoustic guitar...anyway, i like the bass man. i think you should keep that tambourine going. it fits real well in there...when the drums came in man it was real hot but then dropped back out for some reason

antonym - i really like that beat. not much to say about it except that i think the snare was too loud but this thang got my head rockin. great sounds man.

my vote goes to Antonym. this is like a straight up Aftermath track man. good work

Jacpot: nice overall feel to your one. loved the final few seconds, but it came too late for me. the thing that troubled me was the structure of your track, it was all too ordered if you get me. i suffer from the same disease, just putting in extra parts after a few bars, then taking some out later on. it was boring for want of a better word. i'm talking structure here, not sounds, cos those were great. mixing was good too i thought.

Nym: nice to see the mixing is coming along well! i wasn't a great fan of this track tho i have to say, just seemed like it was the same four bars repeated over and over with a few subtle fills and extraneous sample dropouts etc. sprinkled here and there. it just didn't grab me after 3 mins of it.

Tic toc: you got my vote with this one. i really liked this track, just kept on bringing in new bits to keep my interest fixed till the end, though granted it was shorter than nym's, so maybe you had an easier job there. the drums were great, with lots of variation without fragmenting the track too much. in parts i guess they sounded a little soft and fuzzy, but i am clutching at straws here. just loved the track. :D

Nym, sick sick a$$ beat. I was vibing to that the whole time.

Jacpot sample was cool, drums could have been better, especially when it was just the simple part, with just the kick and clap, clap should have been louder. Good, but I gotta vote for Nym.

Tic Toc, same, good sample, vocal samples got a bit annoying after a while.

All pretty good, but Nym's beat just got me and just was so sick to me.

All yall didnt read the thread. Voting is closed, and has been since last night.

Kinda funny though, that a bunch of people ignored that, voted anyway and it STILL ended up a draw (12-12)

Thanks for the replies fellas, and yes, I agree---good battle.

Tic got this. Ant is nipping at his heels though. Jac, a little out in left field but still has some game left in him.

I vote Tic.

yeah there will be another.

time to start listening to records.

i really wasn't satisfied with this beat. it isn't a complete song and wont be until there's an emcee on it. there are none of my signiature changeups in it. while it is more conventiionally "hiphop," said "hip hop" isn't really my style.

issues was right. we all could have done better.

tic toc, next battle - let's wait a couple days to see where we are respectively w/ new projects. in this case, let's not try to out fierce each other necessarily, but rather outdo each other artistically...

this more applies to me. i won't be coming from the same cutthroat angle that i did this time.

peace, thanks all for voting

Cool, Nym, as long as you remember that the battle was YOUR idea. You called it out, so be prepared to go at it immediately, at least with me.

I'm swamped with work for the next few weeks, so I'll be unavailable, but you know how to get at me.

Good battle, though, for sure.
