Rules were only:

No samples aside from drums.

I didn't know what kind of beat to pick for this battle since there were little rules and I don't know RM's style so I'm going to keep it simple:

deadBeat - Yup

RhythmMonster- submarine on the myspace

Thanks man, yours is chill.

Different styles.

I would have picked something more mellow if I had known what kind of beat you were going to do but I'm glad we got a quick battle down. Nice work.

My vote goes to Ssnedden. I like the more melodic sound more and the drums were better. Plus I could hear someone spittin on it. The Submarine sounded more like some horror movie score type shit. It was dope and had the better bassline, but I like the first one more. Plus, "Yup" has a bounce to it that get's your head bobbin! Both beats had intros that were way too long though! Good shit!

My vote goes for rhythm monsters beat, cause, since this is all about no samples, he had more going on in terms of Instrumentation, melody and sound structure, plus it sounded better. So that's why he is the winner for me.

Another thought on battles: in order to really judge who got more skills, I think it's better for both contestant to flip the same sample, so there's a common ground to judge upon. Otherwise it ain't a battle to me, but just 2 dudes displaying their beats. And that's just like comparing apples with bananas. Same in this case, cause both beats are totally different styles. Monsteres is rooted more in the classic boom bap genre whereas ssneddens is more contemporary-orientated....

im not sure whos who,but i like the yup song a little more than the submarine song although the submarine song was a little more my style(meaning a bit more evil sounding)
but i think the yup song was put together a little better...

good stuff from both of you!!!!

I put out an open invite to a battle and RhythmMonster wanted to do a no-sample battle because his SP is in the shop. I agree about the sample flip and would be down to battle anybody who wants to do that.

Thanks for the listens and comments.

My vote goes with the Monster I like both but found his more impressive. Both are nice beats and have there very different highlights; the range of instruments/sounds Monster used and the straight hed nod factor of deadbeats drums. Good job.
This crawford sample is it just a battle battle for you two or an open thing? Im in if so could be pretty dope good sample.
