my top 3:

#1: Freedom - "Verbatim Methods" nice mood, chillin' and all, love that beat

#2: Fluent - Ode To Alcohol, nice beat, has somehow a Premo feel

#3: ZKamil - Close Tha Do', nice, eventhough the sample is too obvious and too known

it would be nice to have another comp with just one sample that everybody would have to work with, just my 2 cents...

Freedom's "Verbatim Methods" is my 1st pick.Lounge vibes with a soul/jazzy touch,great work.
2. Fluent - "Ode to Alcohol" - Like misterv said Primo-like,a nice simple groove
3. Prizm - "Restless" - Nice & experimental.I like the drum patterns.

Great work from all of you guys.I'm comin' next week to battle, not to judge.Watch out!!!

VOTE FOR ONE AND PICK YOUR TOP 3!!!

ZCamel- aint really feeling remade songs that have already been popular....especially if it aint been mixed that much ....

BBsound- cool lil tripped out type steez

DJ2Much-Not really my style of Hiphop but I can appreciate the skills involved in this beat, good work....

Binger0- Nice lil laid back vibe...not really hittin hard though, needs that "uummphh"....

Fluent- bring up the drum sounds....not bad, but could have been worked a bit better...

Concertmate- DIGGIN man.... starts out on a completely different type of style and then goes straight into some "look deep into my soul" type shchit.... Ill....

Prizm- its not bad, but its not great either...

Freedom- nice intro...then the way you bring in everything else... tight work....

my vote was between DJ2Much, Freedom and Concertmate

I judged based on skills, quality of sounds and arrangement.....I didn't judged based on the MY preference of music, but on the skills displayed by each individual....

I chose Concertmate

concertmate and freedom were a step ahead the rest, I think thats clear.

i like Dj2much's track but that hi hat was way too high and it kinda threw me off. that was probably 3rd best for me

oh yah, concertmate wins in my opinion

i think everyone showed skills in there own unique way..but i think to say your judging by 'quality of sounds and 'skills used' is impossible, because a. we/re not all using the same sample and b. everyone is not shooting for the same thing when making a beat....personally i prefer straight ahead 4 bar loops with grimey drums and a thick vinyl hiss over it, no drastic changes for hooks or intros or any of that shit, rather then a sonically precise mix with 800 switch ups and transitions ,,but thats just my personal preference, and there is not one set definition of 'quality' or skills, so it really should be a judge of preference, not of whoever added the most intricate effects and transitions.some heads just aint on it like that...thats just my 2 cents, everyones posted solid tracks..concertmate - this is the best track ive heard from you man, real nice stuff, priz - congrats on the LP being SOLD OUT, thats good to see, hear from any labels yet???

I'm feeling bb sound's cut, I think with some post production on it that it could be really good.
BTW, I think this beat battle is a really good idea, how can I get into the next one?
peace.
