I'm taking it back to the '80s.

A little bit for nostalgia, a little bit to share my story.

Anyway here's one of the ideas that might make the album...

I'm starting a new series of videos called 'Sketches'.

Some ideas are not meant to become records, some ideas grow into becoming full-fledged releases, what's in the future for these quick sketches of musical ideas?

I can't say I know right now if I will pursue them any further for completion.

For me I like to make records that I'm deeply passionate about and right now I don't feel that way about any of these, they were just created out of boredom and for the sake of practicing, but I don't hear anything special enough to keep going.

I'm better than this, a lot better than this, but I'm sharing them anyway to let people know that I'm still working on my craft even if they are not up to my personal standards.

These are my throwaways, tracks that I decided to abandon because the projects I was working on didn't pan out. I don't want to pursue these any further with additional production, and I don't want mix or master them or release them on my label, I'm just throwing them away online just for the sake of dying empty as DJ Jazzy Jeff breaks down in this video:

So yeah, I'm going to follow Jeff's advice and "Die Empty: Old demos, old beats, unrealized records, shelved albums, new releases, do overs, sketches, and throwaways. I'm putting a lot of music out there because life is short and I don't have a lot of time left...

THROWAWAYS II is a humble collection of unfinished, unmixed, and unmastered compositions created by funk, jazz, soul, Boom Bap specialist SYNTH GOD.

Produced in the seclusion of BKLYN SOUND LAB, located in Seattle, WA using a modest collection of modern analog, vintage digital, and analog modeled virtual synthesizers, drum machines, and samplers, SYNTH GOD plays all of his instruments.

“I prefer to create music for a specific project and if that project doesn’t work out, I stop pursuing it and put those tracks in my throwaways folder.’ Explains SYNTH GOD who declares that he doesn’t believe in shopping or selling beats because he’s not really interested in participating in the music industry.

“My music is my art, I’m not trying to be a part of corporate culture, I’m happy with just creating based on whatever emotions I’m going through at the moment. Maybe someday I will get the opportunity to tour and perform these compositions on small stages for the people who truly connect with what I’m doing, maybe not, I’ll let the people decide.” - SYNTH GOD
