Did I write too much about the beat again?

Today I was able to borrow a firewire card from work, finally being able to hook the motu 828 up to my computer. This is the first beat made with the improved setup.

Get it here: http://sensevista.org/mpc/beat-38.mp3 (right click, save as)

About the beat
I started with recording the (acoustic) piano part, then added some overdrive, bitreduction and vinyl crackle to make it sound a bit more authentic (cheesy as hell, I know, but are you going to do when it sounds too damn clean?). Then I chopped it up and rearranged it slightly.

The bassline is a simple acoustic bass patch mixed with a straight sinebass from the nord rack.

The rhodes line is just me playing unquantized.

The drums are kind of off, we'll see if I get around to fixing 'em for the final version, right now I'm just happy to have my setup up and running again.

Top notch shit manye. What can you do with that Cubase man? I mean is it better then recording songs in Cool Edit Pro because thats what I been doin? I stopped usin' Cakewalk Music Creator because it came out soundin' like static was in it. And I can't use Pro Tools because I got Windows XP.

Haha, damn. I mean, I work A LOT with my sounds. Guess I make the same changes preset makers make... :)

DJ 2Much: Well, for starters it's a full-blown sequencer, whereas CEP is audio only.

ONE: I can try that (it's a distorted rhodes btw)

Thanks alot folks!
