this is a beat battle, for which i made a beat

this isn't the typical instrumental song that i usually submit, it's more of a beat. one that actually i may be considering for dstruct himself.

http://excommence.com/sixeight.mp3

dstruction will be posting his in minutes.

Dstruction wins that one. I prefer the vibe. Nyms is a better mix but the ultra heavy bass ruins it for me.

i liked the low bass on nyms. was very good. you know you need to make an album with this kind of style - its more emcee friendly

wtf destruct? was that meant to be real fast or has my comp gone crazy?

is cool though, got a good feel to it

im saying destruct

ha, and it gets even faster!

D, wow, good work homie , that beat caught me off guard in a good way. That was on some other experimental type sh*t, it was dope, impressive!

For some reason I couldn't download Antonyms beat, maybe its my computer or what not, I dunno. But I would like to hear it

Nym's mix is definatly better than dstructs but overall I have to give it to dstruction, his beat has more feel. IMO nym's beat sounds too sterile to my liking but then again you both have loads of skill and you know it.

could you explain what you meant by sterile?

also, is the bass too loud?

i'm on the fence about my beat this time. i looooooooved the sample, but i don't know. it's my first beat in 6/8 and that threw me off because i'm so used to drumming in 4/4, but i'm glad i made the transition.

i also didn't chop/play with the sample at all, i just loved it so much that i left it as is.

Your mix is clean, very clean if I may say but in combination with the style of this particular beat the whole thing gets too sterile for me as in it does not really touch me. Your other beats that you have up on the excommence site (if I'm not mistaken) also have a clean sound but most of these joints also reach out, make your head nod .. Shit this is hard to explain clearly, I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. I don't have any complaints about the bass though.

yo d, you are a crazy mutha man. that beat is very nice and different. it is dstruction. allot of enery. i think you have your own sound.

nym, your beat is nice also but you did not put your usual amount of work into it. your beats in general are very nice because of the detail that you put into them. in this beat that same level of detail is not there. i do not know how much time you put into it but usually you could hear your efforts. this is no dis because you are not a 5 minute beat maker. i like when you take your time and are in control of every note. i think you know what i mean.

enough said, d you have this one man. you crazy mutha fu*ker. :D
