why do want the triton to be a slave?

anyway just connect the out of the Triton to the in of the MPC.
the next thing is you have to read the manual in order to know how to assign and use different sounds etc.
Learn about Device Parameters (MPC)1A, 2A, 3A.....B1, B2,...and so on.
Triton is the same but a little different in the look. read ya manual it will tell you. how ever you will want to do it the other way round though cause using the Triton as a sequencer aint the lick!
thats the MPC's job.

Make your triton slave it works great with the mpc as master in my set up the mpc is the master of both my triton and roland XP-60 so I can make a song with both being used.

on the triton hit global/menu then midi/uncheck local contral/change midi clock to exteral midi and then hit the seq button and youll be ready to go.

on the mpc change drum1 to midi and off to 1a-device-1
change the device for every diffrent track you do

on the triton make sure you use the right track set also matching the mpc

Ok it looks like I am half way there. I did what you told me. But when I turn the global control off and set it 2 external Midi I can not hear the sounds from the Triton. I only hear the sounds of the Mpc when I press the keys. Is there something else I need 2 do, or am I doing something wrong?

All I want 2 do is make a drum pattern(Mpc) & then lay some keys over it(Triton).

Dude,
Ive got a triton extreme 88 and a 2kxl. Your crazy to make the triton the master!! The MPC is THE sequencer. If ya wanna know how to hook that up just ask me and I'll let ya know. You can do it all with that setup, no probs!

Cheers.

Midi cables

MPC Midi out to Triton Midi in
Triton Midi out to MPC Midi in.

Set MPC to send midi clock (shift 9)

Set Triton by hitting global, menu, midi, external midi.

On the MPC main screen bottom left where it says "S:" change it to midi, then one click right, to where it says "off" and change it to correspond to the sequence track number on the triton that you want to sequence. To sequence another track over the top of what u have alreday done, change the "Tr" to another track and do the same thing as before

Hope that helps.

Cheers.
