CAN THE MPC1000 HOOK UP TO TURNTABLES STILL?

HI TO ALL I DON'T OWN ANY MPC BUT I'VE SEEN THE XL IN ACTION WITH A TURNTABLE HOOKED UP TO IT AND IT JUST SEEMED SO........WOW.....IT WAS AMAZING HOW MY FRIEND TOOK A JAMES BROWN CUT AND SAMPLED IT INSIDE THE XL AND CHOPPED IT UP AND MADE A SICK HIT. I'M JUST SAYING IT WOULD BE ASHAME IF IT CAN'T DO THAT

You can hook up any sampler to any audio source - with a turntable you need to run it through a DJ mixer first to boost the signal (as you do with an XL).

Or a phono preamp, which takes up far less space, a beautiful if you are cramped and aren't already a DJ. Rolls makes a decent one I've been using for a bit now.

Or they can just add a phono jack on the MPC like they did with the 4000.

or get a turntable with a built in pre amp like the cheap vestax handytrax that only weughs 4 pounds

or a turntable that has digital out, then you can connect it to the digital in on the back of the mpc

do what I did. if you plan on buying the 1000, download the manual and study it. once you do get the 1k you will know it like the back of your hand

I have the Numark PT-01 and it works pretty well. It has a built in Pre amp.

obviously you have to pre amp the turntable... but an even more/equally important function is that it grounds the turntable. That static/hmm sucks, so definatly go get that preamp. I use the Rolls one too, its great!, and its under 40 bucks... its the red one right?

if the turntable has a digital out, you don't have to ground it. i've seen it done.

i got a stanton str8-80 with digital outs...no grounding (or mixer) necessary
