Mute capabilities

Is it possible to program the mutes into a recording within the 1000? I know you can program mutes on the 200xl but what about the 1000? When you do this it gives you the ability to add breaks and pauses etc.... in a sequence.

i dont think so, maybe in the step editor??? the best thing to do would be to do your sequence into the SONG mode... copy and paste your sequences into all the different parts of the song. Also, what if you put the sample(s) you want to mute a certain times onto there own mute groups, then maybe put a drum hit sample on a pad with the same mute group, adjust the drum hit to be at 0 volume, and record onto a new track the drum hits, right where you need them to interupt the sample, and then youll have little dropouts when ever you need. You can then mute-unmute that new "blank" track to que when you want the drop outs to occur. You could even use that in the song mode too! Maybe an original Jessiah idea???

Its possible that could work, I would have to try it though. Get lookin on the idea! The reason I asked was becuase I was in the studio this weekend and this cat was playing some beats out of the XL and he was playing the breaks live and shit. It sounded real tight how he was freakin it. But I can live without it if the 1000 doesn't have that capability.

hes probably sittin there with the mute page open, with everything broken up into sep. tracks. I like to do that too when im playin my beats to people, make little drops and sh*t... but if you have specific drops you need to do, id make that "mute track" and just drop that whenever

dam theres a easy way to do this.... its called erase a little white button on the front. cmon people make it more coplicated.

i wanted a feature like this too, but something more along the lines of cutting out the sound with a mixer, only without a mixer. you can achieve something similar using the tremolo effect, but it's not exactly what i'm looking for.
