Ok, I have read the manual and searched and found nothing....Anyway it seems that I can only use 4 pgms in my 2000XL at a time....It says in the manual the it can hold 24 but the only way I could figure out to use them is to assign them to DRUM1, DRUM2, DRUM3, and DRUM4....I know that this can't be right so anyone who has the answer, please pass the knowledge!!!!

Why is it not right? That's what you read in the manual. It's correct.

You only have 4 drums, u can hold 24 prgs in memory, but only assign 4 at a time.

That's all you get.

Yeah, thats right. Only 4 at a time (which is an improvement over the MPC3000 and MPC2000, which could only use 1 at a time). That's one of the cool things about the MPC1000 (and probably the MPC2500, although I'm not sure about it) you can use all 24 at a time.

Make sure you read up about program changes. This allows you to use all 24 programs in one sequence if you want - just fire off a program change event in step edit when you want to change the program assigned to the DRUM holder on that track.
