sounds won't stop

hi

i have a question that is as followed:
when i have 2 samples on different pads on the 2kxl and want to stop the one sound from playing when i hit the other pad with the other sound on, how do i do this.

Go into Program mode, then PARAM (F2 i think), then highlight the field where you select the way the sample is played (POLY, MONO, or NOTE OFF) and hit OPEN WINDOW. From memory that brings up the window where you can select two other pads to cut off/mute the sample.
