System Test Nightmare

My Mpc 2500 keeps saying system test when i start it.AFTER DOWNLOADING 1.23 , I tried to start it While Holding down the window button but it is sayING OS FILE NOT FOUND. PLEASE HELP!

Are you using the original CF card that came with it? If so, make sure that you unzipped the folder you downloaded from the Akai website. In other words, you only want the actual OS and not the zipped folder on your CF card.

I have the cf that came with it.But When I turn the mpc on it just says system test. I cant do anything.nothing.I wonder if i disconect cd rom would help?

The System Test Error is a major bug that was in an older OS. However, you should be able to put the latest OS on your CF card (make sure that it is not in a folder) and power on the MPC holding the WINDOW key.

If that doesn't work, you can try removing the CD Rom and try it again. If that doesn't work, you will have to send the MPC to Akai.

Most of the users that encountered this serious bug, fixed it with re-installing the OS.

Get the latest os.
Move the bin version (unzipped and in native format) into the ROOT directory on the card.
Then follow install procedure.

I am going to ask a question that is similar in nature. I'm no computer wiz and I turned my 2500 off while I had it usb'd to my mac. I was attempting to download the new os. anyways when I retried I'm not getting the mpc icon anylonger. Any help will be much appreciated.

never mind got that figured. no icon if no cf card inserted. I was trying to see what came up without the card because with the card it says mpc2500.bin but when I tried to turn on with window button held down it says wrong card. In the load section it reads osmpc2500.
