New to beatmaking, need some assistance

Okay so Im sorry if I am breaking any rules of the forum by posting this thread, but I need help.

Im a hip hop fanatic and love music. I just turned 18 and for a long time I have been wanting to make my own beats. I have played with midi pads before at stores and stuff but never really got into it.

My 18th birthday was last weekend. My girlfriend got me an Akai MPD32. And Im going to be completely honest, I have no idea how to use it. It came with an Ableton cd which I downloaded but I just dont know what to do. How do I get the pad to work? And generally how do I use my mpd? I have used many search engines but I cant find any tutorials.

Any help is appreciated and Im sorry for being such a noob

Edit- and I just realized that this is an MPC only forum and I feel like a dumbass..

read the manuals for both the mpd and live.
look at youtube and see how people are using these products and see if there is a walk thorugh for setting up the mpd with live.

wuz up homie you will need a good software like reasons or fruityloops after that kinda plug and play

do you have any extra cash,i think u would be happier with an mpc500.

with a daw you have to have ur samples in the program ur using,,i personally find this more difficult than an mpc..some people beg to differ,but each persons mind is different,,,hope u get it workin for ya..by the way,i use to have a padkontrol and ableton also came with that,,,if you look on the right hand side of ableton it will give u a rundown on how to make beats..take ur time reading,its the key!!!

if your just starting out then you have a looong way to go my dude. Im saying, your not going to learn it all in day. but ill be fun. just take it one step at a time. experiment. do it with a passion.
