Anyone here make music other than Hip Hop on the MPC?

just wondering if anyone was experimenting with the mpc in music other than hip hop
being a recent mpc purchaser i am absolutely loving being able to create beats from old samples that are pretty close to some hip hop beats that i love
its just the backings to my beats tend to be nothing at all in the direction of hip hop
more like sparse, heavily synth based productions around the 80-95 BPM range which i will make on my computer and then bounce and put them into my mpc

Well I have had an mpc for three years now and i started to produce all hip hop and R&B then i ventured into rock then alternative pop. All done on MPC 2500 and 2000xl. I even went and bought drums from hell for $250 and just put all the samples inside of my MPC hard drive for when i am making rock tracks. it sounds amazing. Just make whatever music you want and stick behind it! because when people are not use to it they either hate or just don't get it.

yea i use the mpc in almost all my projects and i rarely make hip hop. The sequencer is perfect for anything music related that i've encountered. for live use i sample and sequence guitar parts note for note/chord for chord and the mpc basically becomes my rhythm guitarist(among other things).

do you record all of the synth sounds and stuff into the mpc and sequence them on there?
or on the computer than into the mpc?

aye. I run the MPC together with my Virus TI Polar to come up with most elements of my tracks. Then I record into Ableton Live and continue editing and refining there. Virus for basslines, synthlines, pads, etc. MPC for beats, chopping, etc.

House, electro, ghettotech, etc.

i sequence all my synths from external sound modules and vsti plugs. then track into nuendo and edit. sometime i sample the sunths into the mpc so i can manipulate them while they are a loop it turns out sweet when you tune, and chop.

i use cubase and then a bunch of vst's to do all of my synth sounds
have then been putting them into the mpc and messing around with them
its alot of fun having it all there at your finger tips instead of having to use a mouse

I haven't made a hiphop track in my life.. i'm using my mpc (1k) alongside a Sequentix P3 to make anything from hard acid & tekno to reggae & dubstep. In fact i've just finished my first track using the mpc: check it out here.

I make bottom of the barrel gutter music for real life losers who have lost everything and have nuffin to live for !!!!!!!! All on the mpc 2500 no daws

No hip-hop here but not really got much done on the MPC yet. Will be along the lines of a jungle/hard-tek live-set though.

Hey amnesious. 90% of what I do is not Hip-Hop. BTW, I don't have an MPC, I have an S950. Besides the MPC being able to get that lo-fi sound that Hip-Hop producers love, I thought that more than anything it's the timing of this machine that makes it so special. At least that's what I hear. It's supposed to have a very unique feel to the way it quantizes and swings. I love the lo-fi 12bit sound of my 950. It's the only digital piece of gear I own. The rest of my stuff are all analog synths, drummachines and effect units, all from some time prior to 1983.

lol, usually i make hip hop beats on the mpc... but the other day i saw a track I made that I forgot about... it is a fast russian ethnic track, one of those fast ones where you see the dancers doing that horizontal running kicking type move without their hands touching the floor... anyways i had an 8 bar sequence of chops from the russian song going with 8 bars of non quantized cymbal crash and smashes, random hihat hits and a hack-n-slash kick snare beat... no quantizing what so ever... i almost died of laughture when i heard it (i must have been drinking when i made that) it is damn entertaining for the first 20 seconds!
