Just bought an mpc 1000

I am pretty sure this is going to sound like a stupid question. But I have just put my hands on the mpc 1000 for the first time. I am having a tough time getting any beats or sounds out of it. Again this may sound totally stupid, but do i have to download beats and samples from somewhere? or do I need to get that from all kinds of music and sample it myself. the second question here is pretty obvious. i am sure i can dl my own beats and samples. But is that the only way to do it?

Did you get a golden ticket??????

Its a sampler. You record sounds in it and you make music with it. You don't dL music to it, its not an MP3. Either take advantage of the input jack or drag and drop sounds to it with USB.
