guys, i have a problem!! sorry of my badass english, i am russian...

My 2000xl has internal Nec 100mb zip drive. i bought an external 250mb iomega usb drive, but PC does not see my zip 100mb akai disc in explorer or any programs such as cdxtract or awave studio. I was remove internal drive from akai and plug it into ide connector of pc, and same thing happened - pc does not recognize it. "do you want to format this disc?" - says it. in russia we should call something like this "pizdets". what i do wrong and how may i transfer my .wav samples into akai; or from akai into pc? thanks a lot...

ive heard that if u have a 100mb zip drive the 250mb wont read the 100mb disks, i dont know if thats true because Ive always had a 250 for the mpc and comp, but more importantly you have to format the disks on the mpc in order for it to be read by both the computer and mpc. I cant remember which format it is though i havent had to do it in a while but look in the manual or mess around with it til u find the right one, theres only like 3 i think but i wanna say its the FAT the allows both the pc and comp to read the disk, if im wrong im sure somebody will correct me on that.

i read that if u have 750 mb zip drive you wont write on 100mb disc but read all the discs. and if 100 or 250, they both read and write 100 or 250 mb disc.

i'll try to format my disc on akai and look how readable it will be ;)

thanks god i did it)))))))))
i was load a driver to iomega external and format my disc and the file system became FAT. 2000xl was recognize it like "PC" (early it was "zip100") and all files now readable everywhere...
