S3000 & S3000XL Difference in Sound?

i dont care what camp they're in....
i know what MY EARS HEARD!
the s3000xl was the studio standard for a reason.
now, that being said, i've never tested my former
s3000xl against a MPC3000, but the studio that i recorded
at in the mid 90s had an s2000 that was used for drums...
whenever i would take my s3000XL over, he (i'm not a name dropper )unplugged
his s2000 because he preferred the sound of my s3000xl, and so did everyone else
that compared them at that time!!!

Yeah the 3000xl was standard for years, it's mad and they came out in 1995 yet still sold new for a lot of money as far as 2002..great samplers imo the 3200xl was just a 3000xl on steroids only got discontinued cos of the lush S-5000/6000 series

S-2000 was essentialy the same thing as the S3000xl but with a minimal front panel..inside they were practicaly the same, this info was given to me by the dude who designed th software and layout for the 3000 series and later the 5000/6000 series

this has been talked about so many times and fully explained here and in the akai sampler list. yah sound like a bunch of new jacks thinkin the s3000 s3000xl are the same thing. the 32 is same line as the s2000 like its been stated here.

know one said they were the same thing... we're talking about the sound.

All of these samplers are the same primarily. The S3000, S3000xl, and CD3000 are named so because of their installes options.

There are so many people that beg to differ on that statement....

like I said on the other thread, someone post a sound example from an MPC 3000, an S3200XL, an S3000, and an S3000XL...just to throw it out there, whenever i go to the trim screen on my s3000xl, it freezes...any ideas...and my S3000XL is made in japan also....

I can take care of the S3000XL...anyone care to post the others so our ears can make the decision...

S-1000 is different to S1100 in so many ways sound wise
The 1100 has improved convertors and also it has 24bit internal processing which the 1000 didn't have, some people preffer the 1000 over the 1100 as it has more gritty of a sound.

Mine is made in Japan too.

I am that dude. And yes, no noticeable sound difference in the S3000/3200 models versus the S3200xl. To me they sound Identical, and I did experiments with pitching samples up and down and everything...No Difference. Menu wise though there are some differences but if you learn one you'll figure the other one out quickly.
