Just want to check before i send the memory back...

I bought some ram listed as compatible in the memmory and CF thread Kingston 256mb valueram). I tried to install it but it wouldn't get past the mem test. From looking around on the forum it seems my ram is incompatible. Is thert anything i can try before sending it back? Is it worth switching back to a different OS to try it? How can i be certain the next stick of ram will work? Bit of a pita cause i need the mpc for rehearsals and i don't want to spend weeks trying to find a compatible stick. Cheers.

Forgot to add i'm using jjos 1 but i assume the memory test has nothing to do with that so this is probably in the wrong forum.

im pretty sure you can only use 128 of the 256 anyhow.

I read your supposed to buy 256 cause of the way the mpc utilizes the ram. Aaargh! I can see myself being stuck in a cycle of buying ram until i find one that works.
The mpc is more of an expensive midi controller/basic drum machine atm lol.

Thanks! I'm in the uk but they ship internationally so i'll go for that. $15 for the akai ram??? Nice!
