what OS did you have on the 1000 and what OS did you update it to?

well I dont own a 1000... but maybe try and go back to the old OS just to see if the sound goes back to normal.

you have to try other operating systems. try the free JJOS (i assume there is a free demo version)

try every one you can. if all of them are not working then the problem lies in your machine.

well I dont know... what monitors are you using? are you using a mixer? This shouldn't matter.... but you gotta try everything possible. Everything you try should help narrow down the problem.

hell, try different cables. to me it sounds like a problem with the machine by the way you describe the situation... all I know is that vista is not the issue here.
