Sometimes, but I meant generally speaking. Most people won't set the minimal bid for most machines that low to begin with.

yeah.. and some of those guys sell zip sample disks for like 40-50 dollars a pop... expensive as hell. (i mean I have no idea how much they put on them... but still)

Actually, I've bought a couple of them which are nice and specifically one is the best piece of samples I've ever owned, cause it contains a hell of o.g. breaks which I always lusted for and never could get my hands on them cause of the scarcity of their master records.

If it is nice sampled, without any eq or coloring and nicely chopped, it's good for me. I don't see any point in trying to get it by my own from a shitty, played-out LP. I've tried it and the result was horrible. And still, not everybody has access to massive crates of breaks.

However, I was just lucky to get my hands on the good one just on the second try. I know people who bought around 15 diff sample packs and they all sounded generic to death and of course useless to anybody who wanna respect himself as a beatmaker. So I must agree, ebay should ban these or at least create a new category for them.

PS I also hate to death the mess with the keywords. Just try AKAI s950 or EMU EMAX and see how much garbage pops up.

I don't like to buy stuff from the internet in general.
I just love to go to the store and pick some records. I just love to go through them, and to suddenly find a nice drumbreak.
I just love to set up my gear for the perfect sample recording. I just love to chop the break up exactly how I want it. This is why I wanted to make beats.

I like to use one shot samples too. It's more difficult to get drums sound like out of one piece, but if you do so, you can get drums that sound more individual. Yes, I said it.

But most of the sample packs sound really bad.

Oh and the loopmasters samplepacks are great imo. If you chop the loops up and use em as one shots, you have some hi quality samples of all the instruments you need. I think they're great.

yes I can agree with that when it comes to loopmasters. They have punchy samples. The loops dont have great patterns most often but the drums do sound good.

when i first bought my mpc,i downloaded a sh1tload of sample packs,just to realize they all sounded alike for the most part...
after digging for a few weeks and and JUST sampling and choppin sh1t up..i had a better library than most stuff i downloaded..
but there is that occasional sound i'll come across that i know i wont find on vinyl..so yeah,if its there im takin it..then throw in a little reverb or and adjust the levels a bit and call it mine!!



so yeah fuk a pak of samples..make ur own pack and nobody else has them...voila!!!!

whats even worse is the kids droppin gs on those timbo mikos stock loaded with all his bullshit packs...i saw one on youtube with mad +comments and all he as doing was hitting like 4 keys making some bullshit club beat

****. when i first got my mpc i bought some sample packs off of ebay. and i use them too. i aint tryin to be some big time producer either. yeah some of the sounds suck but some dont.

i saw some of those and i was curious, so i bought 1. It is alright i guess, pretty good if you want some quick sounds other than that its pretty much a waste i guess. just my opinion

Honestly, I'm about delete all 6Gb's of fkn samples/sample packs I've acquired over the years and just start over from scratch again.
I used to spend more time on the internet downloading free percussion/synth/strings samples when I don't even use the ones I got already.
Most of the schit sounds the same or is just crap anyway.

As a beatmaker or producer I think you need to keep collecting sounds or things can get stale. It's cool if you dig for every sample, but what some people don't realise is that some of the best producers around create these sample packs, but you can't expect to pay $10 and be blown away by the quality!
