Right, I chopped a sample, and assigned to a new pgm, Mad a new seq, I then hit mode and save, were I save My Seq,

I then switched off the mpc, and back on again, and I loaded the seq, witch diddnt have My recorded data, So I thought I must have the save a pgm as well, So I done the same steps, but this time I saved the pgm, Switched off the unit, than back on, Loaded the seq and pgm, but still no sound on play back :? :?

What have I done wrong? Do I need to save all the samples also??, I thought once the program was saved, the samples would also be saved,

Can anybody help me here, Last night I had to leave the unit on, coz I diddnt want to lose data ???

Embarrassed to say, but I've been trying figure this out for longer than I want to admit- and yeah I read the manual. Nothing worst than making a decent beat and then be scared to turn the machine off. I'm using the free jjos. :?

when you save you have to save "all programs and files" and also "all sequences and songs".....then turn it off and back on then you have to load both things you saved "all programs and files" and "all sequences and songs" and everything will be there..

when you save them you should re-name them...because you might get confused if you have a bunch of files with the same name, because the mpc will name them the same thing everytime,,also watch were you save them to..i have a folder i named "final tracks" and thats where all my stuff gets saved,,in that folder i have about 15 or 20 other folders with the song names...its a pain to start but once you get the hang of it,its second nature,,,,,,hope i helped!!!!!

The easiest way to avoid these problems is to create a new folder for every beat, then save the entire project to this folder. When you are on the save screen, select the save options and turn the data wheel all the way to the right and you get something like "save entire memeory" or "save entire project". Thats your ticket. Make sure when saving over the project that you replace all programs and samples, otherwise any program changes you've made won't be saved.

Hi

Ok, I record and chop a sample, (im using the free jjos)

I assign to a pgm

I begin a seq, do a recording,

Now I want to turn the unit off, So i hit mode and save,

At the save screen, i turn the jog until i see save all programs,

I hit do it, And The mpc then freezes for a bit on the save screen

Then i get an options page, that says make new folder, and replace same files, I click no for new folder, but yes to replace same files, and hit do it

its now got a screen going through all my samples with delete so i hit cancel,

Ive tried jus saving pgms on there own, ive tried making a new folder, jus cant work this out,

you also have to save "all sequences and songs"...if u spin the jog a little further you'll see that also...save them both, then turn off, back on,then re-load them BOTH

save as a new folder and rename it.

What I decided to do is load the program and sequence on there own, Looks like the sequence is ok, But when i load in the program, it has no sounds????

this is were my problem lies,

How I do the program is, I record a sample in, chop it, and create new pgm,

Now I go to save mode and select the program i just made, It then gives me some options,

SAVE WITH SAMPLES, PROGRAM ONLY

REPLACE SAME SAMPLES: YES/NO

I selected with samples, And no to replace samples and hit do it,

It then says

FILE NAME EXISTS, so i hit replace, Now I think im good to go, so I switch the unit off, and back on again

I go to load option, And Load My seq in to unused sequence

I then Scrolldown to my program, in load mode, i hit do it

I have this option

LOAD:WITH SAMPLES

REPLACE SAME SAMPLES IN MEMORY: NO

I select with sample

and no to replace same samples, I hit do it, But a banner comes across the screen saying wrong file!!!!!

have i done wrong here at this stage?????

Please Help, Ive lost some nice bits of work already, and Im sure you can releate to how that feels!!!!!
