^^so frigin tempting..
and thanks man..the blue led's will really set it off..get this i got 100 of them for 99 cents..now thats what im talkin about....
i think im going to try to add two of them where the eject button was for the floppy and put a little piece of clear plastic in the opening so it just looks like a blue light and they will come on as soon as the machine is powered up..

think that would be cool?

Man, this thing is slick as hell! Great job so far for real.

I got a question (too lazy to search, lol). How did you get the lettering done? I need lettering for my 2K classic and can't find the template or whatever to have it done properly... Thanks!

if you already painted it,your best bet is to create a template..easiest way is to go have your screen printed so you have the face on paper in the original size..and then just rename everything yourself and then take your paper and your screen to a screenprinting shop and have them give you an estimate,,my guess is it will be around 200.00..thats usually for the original font and basic black color...the price goes up drasticly with every little change..but even if u just do original..it will look so much better and you'll be so much more happy with it..now get to work because i want to see it when its done...

wouldnt it be cool to have a shelf with like 20 custom mpc's on it...

im getting ready to do my 2500 in white and yellow..lol..this will be my 5th 2500 paintjob...or maybe 4th

one in holographic
one in purple and teal
one in green to gold
and now the yellow..so yeah 4..

You could solder leads off the LED on the circuit board of the card reader. It's a tiny little square led, but contacts on both side easily accessable. Run em under the board to the other side where the old eject button hole is and wham, it's functional.

Keep in mind it's a 5v, 12 won't light up off it.

all 100 of them are 5volt..so ur saying run them off the card reader and it will function as the card is inserted?..if so that is definetly my mission,,never realy messed with pcb or circuit boards or whatever ya call 'em...i was just going to run them off existing constant power so they lit the whole time the mpc was on..any help is highly apreciated..i know ur the man when it comes to that stuff. i can tell because i have no frigin clue about what ur talkin about..but i am down to learn everything under the sun..thanks for ur help and suggestions!!

Open the MPC and look at the reader's cricuitboard while it is loading/saving/accessing the card

On the front left side of the slot, you will see a tiny diode light. Labeled LED right next to it.

It is very small, and is soldered to the top of the board on either side.

Two very small wires soldered to these contacts and then soldered to your blue led and tadda.... functional.

Careful when soldering this, just a tiny litle dab of solder added, and don't keep it heated long. Just enough to make a good contact.
