The Call-Out Thread

third part aside from us 4 needs to grab a sample online pref so we can all get it, and rules and let go

anyone curious in testing out my rath? just straight up battle no rules just a two day deadline

Type of battle:

- 3rd party picks sample
- 5 day time limit
- sample must be used to a point where it's noticeable but outside instrumentation allowed
- possibly more than a 2 person battle

and I would be down for adding a weird rule like
- has to have at least a change-up or main part with a non-4/4 time signature
- has to change key at some point (if you know what I mean)
- etc... just to make it more interesting. But these are your call. The first three are a must, the fourth is possible and the 'weird rule' rules are up to you.

i've been wanting to battle for some time now, have 3 posts in the last page, someone needs to post a damn sample and we will go with the ssnedden rules

I'm being formal about this and calling out nym here in the call out thread. No response necessary, its been covered extensively, just making it official...

Just to clarify things a little...

There are currently THREE beat battles supposedly happening right now.

One is a four-way face-off between jdavidson, ssnedden, j-tawn and j2kxl. This is a 5 day sample-based battle, the sample was chosen by Doglamp. The rules have been agreed a few posts back. I think the beats will be up on June 5th 2009?

The second battle involves Nym who was called-out by Captain Murphy. Each has the freedom to select a sample of their own choosing for this one.

The rules for this sample-based battle have been agreed in that thread so the beats should be posted on 2nd June 2009 (via myself). A poll decides the winner after the anonymous beats have been posted to rule out bias.



The third battle is being billed as the 'Inexperienced Battle' for those that are relatively new to this.

This one is actually a ten-way sample-based face-off between the following forum members:

Doglamp, drunkmonkey, Explicit, jmessyuk1, J-Tawn, konc3pt, LaJProd, LOKI 77, Ronnieray and SHWELL

This one got started in the 'Off Topic' forum and the rules have been agreed.

The sample was chosen by ONE and coincidently comes from the same album (Odori) as the first battle listed above.

If we could keep the time-limited polls open for at least a week that would be appreciated. That should give the floating members a chance to also vote.
