Cammon man, everybody here have to disrespect somebody to feel they are really interesting. I have had the microkorg and try the R3 as well, I just want to know the opinions of other users, simply as that. to hear other people discussing something gives you details you can contrast later on the shop while trying the synth

crossings wrote:that's all true, but you really think these muthafuggas can be bothered to learn the matrix layout on the microkorg as far as making their own sounds go? i mean these dudes can't even be bothered to do their own research regarding which synth to buy.

I like the look of the XL, but I think it's still a little bit pricey for what it is.

I had the microkorg and it was a fun little synth but hated the keys. I have a micron now which is much better for playing although programming it without a software editor takes a little getting used to. Can't compare with the XL though I am afraid.

As for the suggestions of "if you're gonna go hardware you've gotta go analog" - ignore these. Analog has it's place, but so does digital.

yo i think everyone knows the looks aint a bit important when spendin doe on a machine...its about quality and what it has to offer.

i've had the microkorg for a little over a year and its my first synth. i like it, but i still havent got used to the keys. i can play it, but the keys are still a nuisance sometimes. im definetly upgrading to something else in the future...to what, idk yet. but for the time being, im content with the microkorg. i paid 220 for mine

The og microkorg to me sounded hot for basses and some leads. I think it looks better than the xl, but I haven't used an xl yet. Compared to the ms2000 the og microkorg isn't as good, but it's workable. I'd rather get the 2000 key version.

Just curious to know if there are any software plug ins/instruments that emulate the microkorg? (I dont have room for anymore hardware!)
