I need your opinion on this.

I've had my mpc1k for about 2 months or so, and now my bottom-left pad is barely playing ( this pad i use mostly for my bass drum, that's the pad i bang the hardest, already tried switching the pad sensitivity) i don't know what to do, i have warranty (insurance) on it, but i need your feedback. should i return it and demand a new one, or have it sent to akai so they repair it?? call guitar center first?

any help with this will be appreciated. :(

Ps. anyone else with a similar problem?

If you got the warranty, then id say you should send it back for a new one. They might say its your fault youve been hittin that pad to hard, but i dont know.

If you want to keep it, i think you shouuld try using the 16 levels feature, and alternate where you put your samples.

I would suggest gettin a new one more, because you only had it for 2 months. It could be factory defect.

DEFF TAKE IT BACK DOG....HOW HARD WHERE YOU HITTIN THE PADS? BECAUSE MOST MPCS ARE MADE PRETTY RUGGED..AND UNLESS YOU WERE REALLY BEATING THEM THING THEY SHOULD STILL BE OK. ASLONG AS THERE IS NO COSMETIC DAMAGE OR DENTS..ETC AND YOU HAVE ALL THE RECIPTS I THINK YOU CAN EXCHANGE IT WITHOUGHT A PROBLEM. I RECENTLEY BROUGHT MINE BACK. THEY HIT ME UP WITH A BRAND NEW FACTORY SEALED ONE WHICH I SOLD TO GET A 2000XL...

thank you everyone, i called guitar center and the dude that sold it to me will exchange it for a new one, they don't have any in stock but he'll call me asap.

i was hitting the pads a lil hard but not any harder than i did with 2xl, and only had it for 8 weeks!!!! that's crazy.

hopefully the new one will be bug-free...... :) :) :)

thanks for the quick replies.....peace

If you were just trying to get your max volume for you bass kick, why don't you just press the full level button?

cuz they're supposed to be velocity sensative?
