I will post but only to say that I don't have an answer yet - I am trying to solve the problem for them as well.

The MPC is acting like it will only load the os to copy from the floppy drive but that hardly seems right, since it has no problem booting from a different device, in this case a Zip drive. If anyone has ever made a boot disk using the Zip drive instead of the floppy drive, please let me know.

Thank you for any help! :D

I have once, but what exactly is that u want to know? the OS was loaded in the zip disk, and I turned on the mpc (2k classic) mpc started scaning SCSI, and when it got to scsi7 just apeared mpc v 1.72 and some seconds later the mpc was on the main screen

:) Well, ultimately there was only one way to make sure that runnym and any other MPC2000 Classic owners who buy a CF-CARD drive from us will be taken care of: I bought an MPC2000 today and we will be offering free creation of bootable MPC2000 CF cards to anyone who buys a CF-CARD for as long as you own the drive.

And you don't have to buy the Compact Flash cards from us - buy them anywhere you want to, send them to us and we will format them, make them bootable and send them back within 24 hours. We will even pay return shipping costs in the US!

I paid $400 shipped - is that a good price? Prepal.com has them listed at $703 street price - isn't that mighty high for the Classic?

Heck, I may even create a beat or two with the MP - I've heard they kick azz! 8)
