Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By T0MEK Thu Jul 16, 2009 11:45 am
HI ! I'v bought mpc 2000 just a few dayes ago. I had mpc 500 elier.
And i have a little problem with my MPC 2000. its about UNDO SEQ button.
in mpc 500 it was like that : i was recording somthing, if it wasnt good enough i just pushed UNDo button and back to the previous seq, like it was removing last record.
But in mpc 2000 its little difrent i think. when i record something, and when i finnish i can do undo seq but ony once, ony at the first time.
for example if i record hats first i can undo them. but iwf after recording hats i record for example kikz or snarez, i cant undo , light above the undo button just dont light then...

i hope you understand what i mean.
please help.
thanks !
Tom

if u want to delete the seq just press open window when the seqence name is on the display, and the press do it, I guess, not in front of the mpc right now

There is only 1 level of undo. Meaning you can ONLY undo 1 time. That's all u get.

what I usually do is like back up seqences, every time I'm adding another element to a seq (a hit hat, perc, smthing), I copy that seqence to the next, than when I see that I maybe having to many seq I copy the last to 1st (if I wont need the others)

I just use a different track for each sample. Mute what I don't want to hear.

Copy sequences and edit. I don't need to delete, just add on dif seqs, dif tks. I never need to undo more than 1 level.

2k classic manual

UNDO SEQ key

When you record and stop a sequence the
light above this key will turn on. It is possible
to return to sequence back to the state
before recording by pressing the key and
turning off the light. If the key is pressed
again, the light will turn on and the state
will return to the condition after the last recording.
This is convenient to compare the
recording with the previous, or to undo a
poor recording. You can only use the UNDO
SEQ key when you are recording or editing
a sequence. You cannot use this key when
you are editing a program or sound. The
usage of the UNDO SEQ is also limited to
the time just after a recording or edit. If you
move to another mode or function screen,
the UNDO SEQ will be disabled.

500 manual

23. [Erase/Undo] Button:
Use the [ERASE/UNDO] button to delete events
within a track. You can use this button in real-time during recording, or to delete
events using the Erase window. For more information see page 16.

Erase and Undo are 2 separate buttons on the 2k classic, maybe that's what threw you off.
