yeah man, the name isn't that serious.

there will be a market that loves it for that, and the grills, I say more power to them...get as much of the market you can.

Some will love the thanginess and the blanginess and some will be more attracted by the specs.

I just want to see them succeed man, it's a major accomplishment.

If I was 18 again I'd be all over this machine, but it seems like the thang is much more a drum machine than a sampler. In that respect it doesn't really fit my requirements, but I will still hold out for serious UK reviews from the likes of Sound On Sound.

I think he meant that its capabilities aren't like professional samplers.

But, you can layer 16 sounds per pad, hook up a 88 key controller, make keygroups (I hope like the asrx), independent loop points per sound, and like 4 different effects processors.

I'd say that's some nice sampling capabilities.

Gotta admit, the Kangz simplified beat making. But isn't that what we want... to make beats to the flow of our minds as its thought out.

The beats in my mind are super complex so I disagree with what you're saying. The quickest route to those ideas however with a nice sounding machine would be cool.

The sampling elements and specs are hearsay at the minute, as every demo seems to focus exclusively on internal sounds, which may or may not be your 'thang'. With lots of bass, keys and string sounds in the machine, that doesn't actually leave that many for drums if it comes with the quoted 3000 sounds.

I just want to see someone demo the unit by taking samples and working around the machine, rather than just sequencing internal sounds.

lets see it hooked up to a 1200, sample & chop some shit up... w/out using internal sounds except drums & bass.

also how are you to go about chopping a sample/loop into 16 or more parts???

True, that would be nice to see the Thang sample and chop from a record.

That should be the next demo Kangz. A whole beat made by sampling records.

you know, one thing I noticed is there is only one mic/line input on it, not two.

Not sure how that will work with sampling from a turntable or other external device.

Sure you can make it happen, but still, I'd like to see at least two inputs on the thang.

Maybe they assuming most people will be sampling into their computer and dragging the samples in?

That may be true for some folks, but many still use their samplers standalone with just the sampler and
a turntable.

I guess a person can use a single stereo line cable connector with two mono inputs and one stereo line out.....

nah I didn't pre order, but I should be getting my copy of the software soon, I'm def going to get the hardware though, it's a must lol.

I'll keep ya posted on both, prolly do some videos of the software when I get it

get more in depth than what we've seen so far.

if ur copping the hardware why buy the software cos u get the software free with the hardware.


but i think the hardware is a must cop, the mpc1000 might have to get retired cos this shit can do everything and more.

but have to be said the beat making videos dont do the machine justice its like they got the quantise levels on to high shit just sounds stiff.

No, someone has told you it will do everything and more. I think you should prepare yourself for disappointment when the thang doesn't turn out to be a patch on the 1k in the sampling department.
