err.. get the official release man. That version that you've downloaded is the version that leaked to the net like a year ago... They redid a lot of songs after that and made a lot of new sh*t.... Those names are not even the actual names or anything...

Anyway http://www.stonesthrow.com/madvillain/index.html <---- there's a bunch of madvillain/DOOM articles and reviews, check 'em out!

Before you get anything else, cop OPERATION: DOOMSDAY. It's hands down his best album. Might take a while to sink in but give it some time.... Definitely a classic!!

I've heard Doom uses everything, do you have any articles where he talks gear?

In of the links on the stonesthrow site they (Madlib and Doom) talk about gear to some extent, but nothing major. There is one old interview that I've read where he talks about that stuff but I can't remember where I've seen it.. I do remember him saying that he used the 3000 and the 2000 (XL?) on Operation
Doomsday.. I'm guessing he still rocks that 60 as well!

Like I said, he uses everything. I've heard 3000, 2000 and seen pics of him on a 60, but I haven't read anything where he tells it like it is.

Keep in mind that he was in KMD also... As Zev Luv X!

These are IMO the must have Doom albums:

MF DOOM - Operation Doomsday
Madvillain - Madvillainy
King Geedorah - Take me to your leader
KMD - Mr Hood
KMD - Black Bastards (very different from the first album.. A lot more aggressive sounding)
In fact there's a BEST OF KMD album out, so you might want to look into that..

Then there's the Viktor Vaughn albums.. Lyrically very nice, but the beats are not by Doom and they tend to be quite boring.. And of course the Special Herbs series (just his beats, no rhymes at all)

He's also produced and rhymed as part of MIC and their album Escape From Monsta Island dropped last year.. It's dope as f*ck!!

And Special Herbs & Spices just came out a while ago. It's MF Grimm rhyming over Doom's beats. Hot s*it!

Look at my sig people... Doom is the truth... Did anyone else read the interview where he talks about he makes his wife and children call him Doom... The man's great... Madvillain is the best that he's done as far as I'm concerned, but that's largely due to Madlib... His best album all around is Operation: Doomsday and you're right Cheech... It did take a while to set in, but once it did I was hooked... Viktor Vaughn is also one of my Favorites only because it's actually what introduced me to him and made me think he might be dope... I had heard Doomsday, but I never liked it... I heard Viktor Vaughn and it made me give him a second chance... Ever since then he's been top of the Underground scene in my eyes..

If this is the end of the 2000 xl then from a business stand point akai really needs to fill that void cause from the price of the 1k to the 4k there is a Mv8000 right in the middel where the 2k xl would be close to. So maybe akai has plans to drop a new mpc to fill that price range.

If they do create a new beast to fill that void it would prolly be pretty sick... Imagine a cross-breed between a 1000 and a 2000XL.... That's what I would guess... If I were in charge of that decision I'd make a 2KXL with USB capabilities and Built-in FX... That would be sick...
