Hi, I'm new to the akai family, and have just bought my first 2500, it has the akai os installed, but after reading so much about how reliable, updateable and good the jj os is, i was thinking of switching, my only thought is, are the controls different to what i have been following in the akai manual? Because i'm getting used to stuff now like how to adjust sample start and ends, how to record in etc,

I just wanted to become clearer on this jj os before i go ahead and install it.

Also, just quickly, i have just deleted akai os 1.23 and followed the instructions to update 1.24, now whenever i turn my akai on it comes up saying 'OS DATA ERROR'. If anyone has any help or ideas on how i can get back to my old OS i would be very grateful. I can't mount the drive on my mac to put the old mpc2500.bin file back on there.

Many thanks,

Tom

Try the free jj os and see how you get on. Control wise it's not too far from Akai os, but the chopping and general navigation is much better.

If you like it then seriously consider a payed for upgrade.
