Take out the pads that are already in your MPC and spray paint dem joints whateva color u want!!!! I think this is probably a cheaper and more flexible solution with more color options (ANY color you want).
The only catch is, I don't know the proper type of paint that should be used on the pads. I remember a while back someone on these forums custom-painted his MPC1000 pads black. I don't know what kind of paint he used though.
You sure he didn't just buy the black 1000 pads? Those have been out for awhile now and painting the pads would probably result in the paint not drying all the way, cracking or peeling.
I think the MPC that I remember was Poundaproblem's customized MPC. It has black pads, knobs, buttons, and side panels.
viewtopic.php?f=15&t=110706&start=15 That was the first time I've ever seen black pads on a MPC1000. At first I thought he custom painted them but after tracking down the thread that I saw it in and rereading it, he really didn't mention that he painted them himself and I didn't know about the custom pads at MPCStuff. So you could very well be right. Maybe he didn't paint them. Do you think the pads at MPCStuff with the custom colors had the paint "baked" on or painted with some kind of special paint coating using a specialized tool and process that would prevent the paint from cracking and peeling after extreme usage? If so, then maybe spray painting isn't such a good idea. I never really thought about that.
This is a little off topic but while I was tracking down the MPC with the black pads, I ran across this MPC in the same thread:

Oh yeah and this white MPC1k with the tilted screen by The Grublet:
