QUICK MPC + TRITON QUESTION

What up i finally copped my mixer today(Mackie 1402-VLZPRO) so now i can use my triton and mcp together. Any way heres my question. How can i get the triton to play two diffrent sounds on the same sequence?? Like for example i got the triton midi synced to my mpc so the mpc sequences the triton. Ill do the drums on the mpc then ill play a piano melody with the triton on the next track. But lets say i want to add a bass line with the triton too. When i switch the instrument to a bass the piano i recorded earlier turns into the bass sound too. Basically i just want to be able to use multiple sounds from the triton on the same sequence. I record to my mpc .

You set your different Triton sounds to different midi channel numbers, & then set the MPC track numbers to those channels.

OK BUT HOW DO I DO THAT? I HAVE THE TRITON LE 61 KEY...

midi out on trition to midi in on the mpc.midi out from mpc to midi in on triton.
in the tritons global menu screen select the midi filter.
turn the midi channels you'd like on or off.
ext ,int, bth or off. if your trying to use the tritons sounds change it to int.
and with the mpc make sure that the midi channel is either a or b.
1-16a or 1-16b. let us know if you get stuck.

damn i still cant fint it. I click the GLOBAL button on my triton, but i dont see anything about midi filter or channels....heres what i see when im in the "GLOBAL" mode....Please tell me where to go!

I doubt "QUICK + TRITON" can be used in the same sentence.

I got the Triton Rack, and in order to play multiple sounds on there you need to be in Multi mode NOT Global, that's what multi stands for MULTIPLE!!!! In multi mode u can play up to 16 tracks,once you have midi hooked up you just align each channel on the MPC with each channel on the Triton, 2 to 2, 3 to 3, 4 to 4, and so on

hmm..my triton doesnt have a MULTI mode...i have a TRITON LE 61 key and all it has is : COMBI, PROG, SEQ, GLOBAL ,MEDIA, COMPARE next to the LCD....damn man how do i do this!!!

i ues a triton studio wit my mpc2000xl u cant use the triton like that that only works with the rack because it has multi mode

so you sayin that i can only play one sound sout of the triton??im pretty sure you wrong fam...Cause a friend of mine used 2 have tha triton LE and i remember he would play like 4 or 5 sounds out of his triton keyboard...also peep the video on sample kings.com where they re-making that 50 cent beat..hes using a triton Studio in that and does the bass, melody and back ground sounds all with the triton...

I haven't used one myself but..... there is no way a synth in the league of the Triton is not going to be multi-timbral. Even the Korg M1 from the late '80s was. In fact the M1 was probably the first of these big workstation type synths.

I'm thinking about the way my M1 module & EMU XL-1 work. It is a bit like the equivalent of an MPC program, but rather than assigining samples to pads you are assigning synth patches to midi channels. One problem is that every manufacturer uses a different terminology for these things, so on the EMU it is called a MultiSetUp & on the M1 rack it is a Combi....& they use the name Program for a single patch sound!?!

The Triton & M1 are both Korg machines.... so have a look at COMBI. It might be what you need.

The Triton needs to be in SEQUENCER mode. That is the default multi timbral mode for the Triton. I'm not sure about the actual steps with the le but with the Extreme you have to hit the SEQ button, make sure track 1(midi channel 1 by default) is highlighted in the Triton, make sure you have the MPC set up to record on midi channel 1, select the patch you want to use in the Triton, hit REC/PLAY on the MPC. Now to sequence another sound on channel 2 you have to switch the Triton to track 2(this is the step people usually miss) and select the patch you want to use, now switch to midi track 2 in the MPC and you should be good to go.

cooocoo1 yure right it works that way my bad what i was thinking of was getting it to work in program mode and combi mode because all of us korg users know that in seq mode the sounds dont sound the same because the effects are not applied and u can use only five effects per seq and in program and combi mode one sound can use 3 to 4 effects so to beat that i have been seqence wit my daw by making my drum pattern then dumping each sound on a track in nuendo or protools then loop that for 4 or 8 bars whatever i want then find a program i like make a melody and record it (the daw controles the mpc the mpc controlles the triton so what i play on the triton i recrd to a mpc track then i dump it into a track in the daw use copy and paste to arrange the song that way u can have unlimited effects and combi

also afther u record one track on the mpc erase it or mute that track and go to anthor
