External Hard Drive Options for 2000XL

A while back I saw the storage options listed on the site below...

It is mentioned the possibility of replacing an external CD drive with a hard drive by gutting it and dropping in a hard drive. This seems a lot cheaper than purchasing an actual external hard drive. Here is some of the info MPC2000xl.com gave...

Anyone on this forum done this or have any input on what hard drive or connectors to get?

Not sure when the article on mpc2000xl was written, but you can find old enclosures sometimes with drives for super cheap now. They used to make them for Macs years ago when 2-4GB used to be a big deal for storage.

You should be able to find something for around 20 - 30 bucks. However, I think the largest size SCSI hard drive you can use in a 2000XL is 9GB.
