No I don't think they'll do that for you cause they would have to do it for the thoursands or millions of people that have bought the mpc 1000 with the old pads which at first isn't that bad just a little hard but I haven't never used or owned another mpc before so I wouldn't not know the differents. But if you'll planning to get the new pads from mpcstuff.com it would best to do so now (right now today or sometime this week)before they run out and you'll have to wait like me for 3 months.I'll be getting mine sometime this week. But even with the old pads you can still make beats

sure!
i will.
i should also try dealin with my local instrument pusher...given that i spent a lot of hard earned money these last two years there....but they are usually so pathetically ignorant i think i'll not try.

im more and more convinced that i'll have to take it straight in my ass and buy the upgrade....
or...i should break those pads given that im still under warranty and ask for a new machine given that they broke so early...but i'll probably end up with another old stock machine they got ....

F*CK AKAI or NUKAI

I have a balck one with the "old" pads and ok, I admit they're not the most responsive pads and they're a bit hard, but they haven't died on my yet.

sorry english speakin people,
this their smart reply.

Hello,

The traditional MPC1000 pad design has been in use for the past 5-6 years with many, many thousands of units out there being used and working fine. There are not any inherent issues with the previous pads. If you are experiencing issues with your unit, the distributor which covers the country or region where your product was purchased will be able answer any questions you may have about your product’s warranty, and can refer you to the appropriate service center. The answers to questions such as, “What’s covered by my warranty?” and, “How long is the warranty coverage?” are determined by the distributor from which the product is originally purchased. We will be happy to provide you with their contact information. Please note that your product is only eligible for warranty coverage in the country or distributor territory in which it was purchased. If you have moved, or you are now located in a different region from the one in which you purchased their product, we can also provide you contact information for the closest distributor to you who may be able to offer non-warranty service.

translated:
i know the service but im pretty sure i'll end up wwith some pad changed again with the oldschool ones...so im thnkin to buy that fkin upgrade and put a curse on all nukai and their children and grandchildren....
By psoul Thu Oct 01, 2009 6:53 am
yeah they are definitly a lot stronzi...i sent a mail and i call them a couple of years ago for my ex mpc1000 to ask if they had the pad upgrade... they never reply....i ask to akai service in germany they reply after 2 hours and told me to contact italian one.... this is, as usual, italian limitation for honest people.... no way in italy, kick back outside italy...

i think that if u want for sure the upgrade u should look for it... a friend of mine had a new black one and i feel the pad are a lot better...

ciao

This is turning into the Italian thread...
I'm thinking about the pad upgrade as well, but it's 180 Dollars, so I'll just wait for them to die out almost completely then I'll replace them.
At the moment my old gripe is that they're too hard and every now and then they trigger a note twice, but not too much of an issue.

Plus I really need to decide what's more important, hard drive, pad replacement or a custom skin sticker...

Buona Giornata!

you mean an adesivo di pelle umana? ;D
mah i dont need an hd so badly now. i can survive with the cf card, plus i do lot of stuff on ableton rite now. but for liveset i still prefer mpc's.

anyway, automag, have you installed jj? im on jjos2xl and the sensitivity is wildly improved.
thanks both,
a risentirci
